  4. ARTISOFT ANNOUNCES NEW AE-3 ETHERNET ADAPTER
  5. Compatible with Thin, Thick, and Twisted-Pair Ethernet Cabling

  7. (TUCSON, Ariz--May 20, 1991)--Artisoft announced today its new AE-3
  8. Ethernet Adapter that will be Novell Certified and will run on thin
  9. or thick coax, or twisted-pair ethernet cabling.  The AE-3 will be
  10. available June 7, 1991 and for $349.

  13. Schoof, Artisoft's President and CEO.  It offers maximum flexibility
  14. to growing businesses whose networking needs may change in the
  15. future."

  17. The AE-3 Ethernet Adapter offers the same features as the existing
  18. AE-2 Ethernet Adapter except for cabling.  It is a 16-bit adapter
  19. with 16K of RAM (user expandable to 64K) that automatically switches
  20. to an 8-bit mode when placed in an 8-bit slot.  The AE-3 is in 100%
  21. compliance with IEEE 802.3 ethernet standard and has selectable I/O
  22. addresses and support for 8 IRQs.  An optional boot ROM is available
  23. for diskless workstations.

  25. The AE-3 Ethernet Adapter will begin shipping with a Novell Certified
  26. driver at the end of June.  The AE-3 automatically senses when using
  27. coax or twisted-pair cable and has a link integrity LED to show when
  28. proper connection to the twisted-pair hub is made.
